About Red & This Site
Who is Red Conrad, and what is this site for?
I’m a pastor, peer specialist, and coalition leader in Putnam County, Florida, and I have lived experience of homelessness and recovery. This site is my personal home for speaking, advocacy, ministry, and ways to get in touch. Read more on the About page.
How is RedConrad.me different from the Coalition’s website?
This site is mine, and it covers my personal work. The Putnam County Homelessness Solutions Coalition has its own site at PutnamHomelessCoalition.org, where you will find Coalition news, the Volunteer and Join pages, the Housing Network, and the FAQs about how the Coalition operates.
Do you speak on behalf of the Coalition, the ministry, or just yourself?
It depends on the setting. I am a leader of the Putnam County Homelessness Solutions Coalition and the founder of Spiritual Messiah Ministries, so I sometimes speak for them. Unless I say otherwise, assume I’m speaking for myself, with my own views and experience. When I’m speaking on behalf of the Coalition or the ministry, I will say so.
What’s the best way to contact you?
For speaking, media, partnerships, and general questions, email Red@RedConrad.me or call or text 386-559-4023. For mental health and recovery support, call the peer support line at 352-774-1486 (also on the Contact page). For ministry questions, email spiritualmessiahministries@gmail.com.
Speaking & Media
What topics do you speak on?
My signature talk is Myths of Homelessness. I also speak on faith and the unhoused, peer support and lived experience, recovery and resilience, building coalitions that last, and Florida homeless policy. See the Public Speaking page for details.
What formats and audiences do you work with?
Formats: keynotes, workshops, training and in-service sessions, panels and moderated conversations, testimony and storytelling, government and public comment, webinars and virtual workshops, Q&A or “ask me anything” sessions, community forums and community events, and podcast, radio, and press interviews.
Audiences: recovery and peer support conferences, nonprofit conferences, faith communities and churches, government and municipal bodies, academic institutions, and the general community. I educate the community about recovery, mental health, and homelessness.
How do I book you?
Email Red@RedConrad.me with your organization and event name, the date and location, your expected audience size, your preferred topic, and anything else I should know. Please give me at least one month’s notice.
What do you charge?
Speaking is free for faith communities, though donations are welcome. For all other organizations, contact me to discuss. Travel expenses are covered separately in every case, including free engagements.
Do you travel, or speak virtually?
Both. I’m happy to speak virtually. I’m also open to traveling, provided travel expenses are covered in addition to any other payment, and for free engagements as well. Travel expenses should be arranged in advance, along with the one month’s notice mentioned above.
Consulting
Can you help my county start a homelessness coalition?
I’m open to inquiries. The Putnam County Homelessness Solutions Coalition is the model I know best, and I’m glad to talk about what building something similar could look like in your area. Email Red@RedConrad.me with a little about your county, who is already at the table, and what you’re hoping to accomplish.
Getting Help & the Housing Network
I need help right now. What should I do?
If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988. For other help, use the Help A Neighbor form or contact one of the Coalition’s Partners listed at PutnamHomelessCoalition.org.
What is Help A Neighbor?
A referral form for connecting someone who needs help with an organization that can best meet that need, such as mental health, substance use recovery, housing, or groceries and supplies. I send each referral to the organization in my network that is best able to help.
Does the person I’m referring need to know about it?
It’s helpful if they do. When someone knows a referral was made, they are less likely to be surprised or put off when an organization contacts them. If you can, let them know before or after you submit the form.
What happens to the information I submit?
Each organization that receives a referral follows its own policies for storing and protecting information. The form is not for emergencies, so please call 911 or 988 if someone is in danger.
Is the Housing Network connected to this site?
The Housing Network is a Coalition program, and you’ll find the full details on the Housing Network page, including how landlords and applicants can get started, plus its own FAQs.
Ministry
What is Spiritual Messiah Ministries?
A Christian house-church ministry founded in 2011 and rooted in Matthew 25, with the tagline “Faith that shows up.” It is mainly an online and house-church style ministry. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a committed follower of Jesus or simply exploring or doubting.
Do you offer weddings, counseling, or other pastoral services?
Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Contact the ministry at spiritualmessiahministries@gmail.com and tell us what you have in mind. See the Ministry page for more.
Wellness
What is the Wellness page, and is it connected to the Coalition?
The Wellness page shares MAKE Wellness supplements I personally use. It is a personal recommendation of mine and is separate from the Coalition’s work, so it isn’t a Coalition program.
Do you earn money from it?
Yes. I’m an affiliate, so I may earn a commission when someone buys through my link, at no extra cost to the buyer. If I give a portion of what I earn to the Coalition, the amount depends on the commissions I receive and will vary with sales.
Should I talk to a doctor before taking these products?
Yes. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist before starting any supplement, especially if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a medical condition. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and the products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
